Spiritual Growth - Personal Relationships
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35
As Christians we should commit to a deeper level of personal growth and our personal relationships, and how we relate within them, is a good place to start. Some people seem to be more geared to engage in relationships than others. And it is true, some people are very outgoing and yet others are more to themselves. Personalities differ but the importance of personal relationships remains very important.
Many people who are introverted are naturally that way because that’s how God made them, but some are introverted because of hurts that have happened at an earlier time in their life. For the introverted who have been hurt there must be some intense ministry that sets them free from those hurts so they can be who God has called them to be. Deep wounding in childhood can cause a person to insulate themselves from any depth of relationship. It is self-preservation at its best…..or worse as it usually turns out. It may be intentional or subconscious but either way it’s destructive and it prohibits one from committing wholeheartedly to their relationships. Many a marriage has ended because either the husband or the wife has been wounded during childhood and it has never been resolved ...
